Pride 2022: Party & Protest
Pride season 2022 is like no other. For the first time in more than two years, most of us have an opportunity to gather together in real life, face to face, skin to skin. It’s been too long since we queer and trans folk have partied together en masse. But this year has also seen unprecedented assaults against the community, from anti-trans legislation in state legislatures in the U.S. and anti-trans rhetoric in the U.K. media to anti-queer censorship in Eastern Europe and U.S. schools. Never has the traditional meaning of Pride as a protest felt more urgent. Pride 2022 is all about connection, party and protest.
