Hallow’s Eve
What could be more fun for gays than Halloween in May? With DJs Kaine Delay and Isolde Black, live entertainment from Neil E Dee and Angie Balbon, costumed servers and more. Dress to impress.
8:30pm–1:30am. Lux Lounge, 1180 Howe St. $11 at the door. facebook.com/events/947043955413420/
Shower Power
I am always amazed this man hasn’t set his balls on fire. No wonder there’s no hair on his hot body! Mr Ruff Shane Rooks will light up the club tonight with his fire show, then follow it up with a stripped down steamy shower show. Sparks will fly and things may get a little hot and swollen. If that wasn’t enough DJ Gingerbear Todd will be spinning and with enough encouragement may even do a shower scene himself.
Doors 9pm, show 11pm. Odyssey, 686 West Hastings St. Cover TBA. facebook.com/TheOdysseyBar/timeline

Cranbrook Pride
Time for a road trip to the Kootenays! Cranbrook is a short drive east of the longest free ferry ride in Canada (and I’m not talking about Carlotta Gurl). Cranbrook Pride takes place from tonight until Sunday, May 29 and has everything you need for a little country Pride. Tonight is a youth movie night, Saturday has a Pride BBQ from noon–4pm with entertainment, activities and vendors, and a big dance at night. Sunday is the big Farewell Brunch. Take an opportunity to get out of the city and see Pride from a new perspective.

PCAN: Jock Party
I find men in workout or sports gear far sexier than just walking around a party naked. I need the goods hidden a bit so I can be surprised, like unwrapping a present. The Pacific-Canadian Association of Nudists (PCAN) brings you just that. Tonight wear your skimpiest or sexiest jock wear, from jockstraps to football gear to wrestling tights. Make guys use their imagination then let them peel the layers off.
8pm–2am. Club 8×6, 1775 Haro St. Entrance $10 members, $15 guests. p-can.org
PranceHall
Finally a place where I can twerk my heart out (isn’t that a fun picture?). PranceHall brings you a queer dancehall experience where you can twerk, bounce and dance any way you want to reggae music, and reclaim the often-homophobic lyrics of the dancehall genre. With DJs Ganjatee, Young Teezy and Spykd, as well as dancers The Snap Boys and Dagga, you will never leave the dance floor. Dress to sweat, express and impress.
10pm. Vancouver Art & Leisure, 1965 Main St, back alley entrance. Tickets $10 at leisure.events/prance-hall or $15 at door. facebook.com/events/458159864388320/
Iona Whipp Farewell Tour
The time has finally come, the old doll is leaving BC and in grand style she’s having a farewell tour. This will be Victoria’s final chance to say goodbye and it will be a night to remember. Joining Iona to perform are Millie Mortality, Lola Maneata and Persi Flage, followed by a party. Come say goodbye and have one last fling with Iona. It is only a short ferry ride away.
10pm–2am. Paparazzi Nightclub, 642 Johnson St, Victoria. Cover $8. facebook.com/events/589961381169529/
Divas
I recently took my life in my hands when I asked one drag queen how old another queen was. Apparently you never ask drag age, let alone publish it. So let’s just say that tonight is not only Sienna Blaze’s Divas show, it is also her birthday show. Join Sienna, Kamelle Toe and Alma B Itches on the red carpet, then let their performances wow you. I’ll be there counting the candles on the cake.
10pm. The Junction, 1138 Davie St. Cover $5. facebook.com/events/163088317422480/
Hotline
A night so secret you have to call the Hotline to get the secret warehouse location. I love the secrecy of it, but of course it is for women. Men just can’t wait to tell you where the party is. A night showcasing women in techno and house, featuring Myte, LVT, Christ Belle and Kasey Riot, with visuals by Erica Lapadat-Janzen.
11:59pm. Call the Hotline for location, 604-367-1794. Tickets $10 at residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?832350 or $15 at door. facebook.com/events/1106419812750825/

Oliv’s 35th Anniversary
It may seem like a lifetime ago, but it was 35 years ago that Oliv was Empress, back in the glory days when the Coronation drew crowds large enough to fill the Commodore. Relive those days tonight as Bill Monroe hosts Empress Oliv’s Emerald Anniversary, brought to you by the Vancouver Knights Of Malta.
4–8pm. The Junction, 1138 Davie St. Donations to benefit the Wings Housing Society. facebook.com/events/1598112637173535
PUMP
Sometimes I like to sit on the sidelines and just watch. This is one of those nights: not only do I get to gaze at all the hot men in their leather or fetish gear — occasionally eyeing a newbie out for his first time who may need some fatherly advice — but I get to watch a talented DJ, Nick Bertossi, who is not only great eye candy but always keeps the dance floor full. Go-go men, bears, cubs, muscle and leather: just what a Saturday night needs.
9pm. Pumpjack Pub, 1167 Davie St. $5 cover after 9pm unless in leather, rubber or fetish wear. pumpjackpub.com
Bawdyhaus
The definition of a bawdyhouse (Canadian spelling) is a brothel, so who else would you expect to DJ but Del Stamp? Throw in Matt Stands from Seattle, and the floor will be rocking with hot, sweaty, scantily clad bears and cubs. Looking for a little fetish as well? Head down to the fetish-only lower floor, where DJ Gingerbear Todd will drown out the muffled screams of ecstasy, as HoneyPot brings you its newest and filthiest monthly event. “So dress up or dress down to show off whatever bawdy you have because you are fucking hot,” organizers say. Maybe you will even see Gingerbear in his latex thong.
9pm–3am. The Hindenburg, 23 west Cordova St. Tickets $10 advance at paypal.com or Little Sister`s, 1238 Davie St or $15 at door. facebook.com/events/889524837823277/
THOT
Until this week I had no idea that people across BC are reading our listings, so thank you for that and keep the events coming. It’s nice to see that even in the Okanagan, “That Hoe Over There” means the same as it does in Vancouver. Tonight that Hoe is Vancouver’s Evita Versace, and she is on tour, or on the run, all the way to Kelowna. Cut up your fave outfit and make it short, tight and slutty to kick off summer right.
9:30pm. Cannery Lounge, 1267 Cannery Lane, Kelowna. $20 at door or $15 at eventbrite.com. facebook.com/events/1541557152813183/

Slam: Go Team BBQ
You may not know it but Vancouver has eight LGBT ball teams that travel around to tournaments showing off their bats, balls and a few mitts. As you can imagine, it costs a lot for travel, so every year the Junction hosts a fundraising barbecue to help out. This year is the fifth annual event. Come down and have some food, enjoy some entertainment, win some prizes and see some jocks. It is all for a great cause.
3pm. The Junction, 1138 Davie St. Entrance by donation. facebook.com/events/1184554811573905/
Sanctuary 1st Anniversary
An anniversary show so big they needed to split it into two venues — and not because all the queens couldn’t fit on the 1181 stage, that is just a rumour. Sanctuary is a year old, which means it’s time to celebrate all night long. Start off at the regular slot at 1181 and get your groove on, then at midnight head across the street and see a second whole new show, Back For Seconds, with a new cast of performers and this one is all for charity.
11:59pm (after the 1181 show). XYYVR, 1216 Bute St. facebook.com/events/1546206795674377/

Naked Yoga
Pride is almost upon us and, like most of you, I need to tighten up a few things before then, and I don’t mean with Kegel exercises. (I’m thinking more glutes and handles.) What better way to get motivated and see the progress as it happens than with naked yoga? There is always visual stimulation to help you achieve that perfect stretch. Plus with all the money you save by not having to buy yoga gear you can afford that leather jock for the parade.
7–9pm. Club 8×6, 1775 Haro St. $15 per session or eight sessions for $100 at nudedudeyoga.com.
Tuesday, May 31
Fruit Camp
Now that we are all limber and aired out from yoga, it is time to work on the rest of our bodies at the Health Initiative for Men’s annual outdoor boot camps. They will guide even the novice through warm-ups, jogging, cross-training, walking, stretching and general exercises for gay guys at all levels of fitness. This is fruity boot camp, not camping for fruits, so yes, you must be clothed. Camps are rain or shine, and free. Just show up before class starts.
6:30–7:30pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at Nelson Park, and Wednesday at the Roundhouse Community Centre, 181 Roundhouse Mews. checkhimout.ca
