Faux Girls

Even though Coronation 2016 is over and all the out of town talent has gone home, our ladies of the night are still going strong. Our new Empress XLV Sienna Blaze will host Faux Girls on the third Friday of the month, raising money for assorted charities supported by the Dogwood Monarchy Society. Come see Sienna and guests do what they do best. (If Carlotta is over her week-long birthday celebration, you may even see a cartwheel or two fly by. Dance to DJ Mike Bermudez after the show.

Out & About Vancouver

I work a lot, too much, so sometimes I need a group like this to introduce me to people outside the party or club scene. This is a group of about 100 gay men who enjoy the outdoors. Hiking, walking, cycling, kayaking, camping, whatever is of interest to the members. Sometimes they even plan trips to the US, or barbecues, or even a night at the opera — something for everyone. Find out more about today’s hike to Minnekhada Regional Park Hike and other upcoming events at meetup.com/Out-About-Vancouver/.

Lost Girls Burlesque with Brent Ray Fraser

If you’ve never seen Brent Ray Fraser in action you are missing out. The man can paint a portrait with his penis! Most of my friends can’t even dot an eye with theirs, let alone dip it into paint and rub it onto a canvas without blowing a load. Plus the man is built like a tank. Tonight he is performing with Lost Girls Burlesque but I bet most of the audience won’t even notice the women on stage, which would be a shame. These women know how to entertain, and senses will be stimulated throughout the crowd for men and women alike.

Doors 8pm, show 9pm. Fox Cabaret, 2321 Main St. Tickets $15 at brownpapertickets.com.

Lab Art Show

Even I’ll admit that a bit of culture is good for the soul, though it’s better if wine is involved. Tonight’s exhibition includes 150 artists, more than 500 pieces of work, designers from 12 countries, performance art, live music, short films, and yes, 11 wineries, all included in your ticket. Please check Facebook for a list of artists, musicians and wineries.

6pm–12am. Roundhouse Community Centre, 181 Roundhouse Mews. Tickets at door $32 or at eventbrite.ca. facebook.com/events/1516530108677415/

Kink Fetish Nights: Launch Party

I must be making a name for myself as a kinkster since so many of you keep pointing out all the great kink and fetish parties for me. (Thank you!) This is a kinky, LGBT-friendly event but no sex on premises (that is for the After Party listed below). This place has an outdoor, fully covered and heated dungeon complete with plush seats for the viewing crowd, low lights, and dungeon monitors to ensure safe play. For a full list of rules, dress code and play rules check out Facebook.

9pm–3am. Playhouse, 1240 Thurlow St. Tickets $18 at door, VIP $20 at Deadly Couture, 317 Cambie St, or Ultra Love Retail, 1151 Davie St. vancouver.gaycities.com/events/621445-kink-fetish-nights-launch-party
3–6am. Aftershock Kink After Party. Here is where the fun really gets going after Playhouse. Tickets $15 at door. facebook.com/events/1538020959828179/

Vancouver Sun Run

Now is the time when fat should be turning to fit, or at least that’s what I keep telling myself. If you’ve been training for this you’re all set, but I’ll be looking for the walk option, which may take me a day longer to finish. One of the most scenic runs in Canada, this 10km race is for everyone and starts at Burrard Street at Georgia Street.

9am. For info on charity pledging, race info, the map and more go to vancouversun.com/sunrun/index.html?__lsa=2dbc-e5fb

Caliente Nights: Once Upon A Time

Some cartoons were scary enough to me as a child, now imagine drag queens bringing those characters to life in their own special way. Tonight’s gala stars Brooke Davis, Babette Co-Taylor, Katy Hairy, Tailyn Howe and more, bringing you a cartoon and fairy tale extravaganza.

10pm. The Junction, 1138 Davie St. $5 cover. facebook.com/VancouverCalienteNights/

Condom Packing

Pride is a short 14 or so weeks away, and we all need to do our part to stockpile those wonderful little packages of heaven that the Health Initiative for Men (HIM) provides to keep us safe. Get together tonight with a great group of guys, pack condoms and lube, take home a few samples to try, and get a great meal at the end of the night provided by one of the Village hot spots.

6–9pm. HIM office, Room 310-1033 Davie St. Email office@checkhimout.ca or go to checkhimout.ca/ai1ec_event/condom-packaging-party-14/?instance_id=20863

Flex Fit With HIM

If you missed the Sun Run because the fetish party wore you out and you woke up in a strange condo in some godforsaken part of town, you can still join this weekly drop-in exercise class for gay men. All levels of fitness are welcome to work on muscle strength, stretching, yoga, squats and core work. Think of all those new positions you can get into this summer. Bring a mat, towel and water if needed.

4:30–6pm. Scotiabank Dance Centre, 677 Davie St. For more information or to register, call 604-488-1001 or email register@checkhimout.ca. checkhimout.ca/ai1ec_event/flex-fit-with-him/?instance_id=21362

Down In The Dirt

People may think the dirt under your nails is from clinging to a log on Lee’s Trail as you got pounded into ecstasy, but actually you’ve become a gardening gnome at HIM’s weekly gay gardening group. Meet great guys while helping to grow food for the West End Organic Food Program. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to experienced gardeners.

7pm. Meet at Melriches, 1244 Davie St. For more information or to register, call 604-488-1001 or email register@checkhimout.ca. checkhimout.ca/ai1ec_event/gardening-with-him-3/?instance_id=21727

Wild Kitty: Fingering and Fisting

You know me: I always like to end on a bang. And this is about the best bang around this week. Metro Vancouver Kink is providing a class and demo run by Redrobin on a subject that makes a lot of us clench our cheeks (I know you’re doing it now). But it doesn’t have to be scary. Come and learn the right way to use your fingers and hands, whether in whole or in part, to help your partner get the most out of the experience. Dress code is casual.

6:30-8:30pm. WISE Hall, 1882 Adanac St. Donations welcome. Email for more info to contact@metrovancouverkink.com. metrovancouverkink.com/happening/wild-kitty-fingering-fisting/

(Think there’s an upcoming event I should attend? Click here to list your event on dailyxtra.com or send me a note at oitc.vancouver@dailyxtra.com.)

: Man about town scurrying into every bar, restaurant, nook and cranny looking for all the details to post the events you want to see. Drop me a line if you want your GLBT themed event, meeting, social, gathering, play party, circle jerk, listed online or even if you are one short for your orgy. I always aim to please.....unless its your eye...ouch!!!
