Teen’s Instagram blows up over celebrity drag photos

Liam Martin is a 17-year-old Instagram sensation with more than 1.5 million followers of his low-fi drag celebrity impressions. Some of his subjects have included Cara Delevingne, Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry.

He estimates that he spends $45 per look and posts on average one photo a week.

His most challenging recreation was “the Katy Perry photo from her ‘Dark Horse’ music video,” Martin tells Yahoo. The headpiece was made of “M&Ms and string . . . It took me three hours. My mom and my nana were helping me with that one and it took hours. Most of the time my mom helps me get dressed up and she’ll take the photo for me. If my [extended] family is over, my nana and my pops — my grandpa — will help me. The whole family loves it too. It’s now become normal for them.”
