Out in Vancouver: May 27–June 2, 2015

Choice events in the city this week

Bi, Hung, Fit and Married: An Erotic Journey

It sounds like half the ad headers on Scruff, but this is Mark Bentley Cohen’s autobiographical, one-person risqué show about “a couple’s journey of self-discovery as they open their 15-year marriage to explore evolving emotional sexual needs beyond monogamy.” Plus there is a full bar and a sex-positive play space where there are lots of private areas for “mingling” if the play gets you frisky .

Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29. 8pm. Club 8×6, 1775 Haro St. $20. brownpapertickets.com. bihungfit.ca

Enchanted Garden: What Dreams May Come

Ok, I know where your mind is going, but this is not that kind of garden and everyone will remain clothed. This is the night to celebrate with Vancouver Friends For Life and the 20th anniversary of the restoration of the Diamond Centre For Living. The garden oasis above Denman Street will come alive with performances, live music, cocktails, delicious appetizers and more.

Saturday, May 30. 6pm-12am. Coast Plaza Hotel Garden Terrace, 1763 Comox St. $100. guestmanager.com/event/709143

The Missing Dot Party

The Vancouver Dot Party goes back many years, and yours truly has been to many of them back in the day when gay guys knew how to party. Gone are the days of getting a blow job on the shuttle to the party — these days, nobody wants to mess up their hair before making an entrance. That being said, you can still have a great time as this event makes a grand splash revival with none other than DJ Del Stamp spinning and host Empress XLIV Babette Co-Taylor. Polka Dot attire is a must and will be enforced.

Sunday, May 31. 4-9pm. The Junction, 1138 Davie St. facebook.com/events/1591137907806989/

The Sweet and Sticky Show

Oh, the things I could say about this right now. It’s a Drag Show in Kitsilano, but it will be worth the trip. Hosted by Katy Hairy and Evita Versace, with special guest performances by Gia Metric, Vienna Vanity and more. Whether you are sticky, sweet or something in between, you are sure to have a good time.

Sunday, May 31. 8pm. Displace Hashery, 3293 West 4th Ave. $10.facebook.com/events/396228930559360/

Bette Midler: Divine Intervention

Every gay man has been there: dancing around the bedroom getting ready for a big date, singing “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” at the top of their lungs into a dildo for a mic. Well. now is your chance to belt it out along with the divine Miss M at tonight’s concert. You can bet Mandy Kamp will be there, dressed to the teats, to battle any Midler wannabe to the stage door.

Tuesday, June 2. 8pm. Rogers Arena, 800 Griffiths Way. $60-$280. ticketmaster.ca

Ball and Jax

Some nights, when you are just too lazy to do the deed yourself, join a group of hot, sexy, horny, adventurous men that are more than willing to lend you a hand or two. This group has grown so popular that they are heading into their second year of what can only be described as a pud-pulling orgy — one you will think about for many nights to come.

Wednesday, June 3. 8-11pm. Club 8×6, 1775 Haro St. $10-$15.vancouverjax.com

6th Annual Loud Awards

This is the LOUD Foundation Scholarship Awards Gala, honouring this year’s seven scholarship recipients. LOUD unites the LGBT business community and enables them to invest in the future leaders of our community. The evening will be hosted by Robert Kaiser, aka Joan-E, with the Frank Theatre company supplying the entertainment.

Thursday, June 4. 5pm. Steamworks Brewpub, 375 Water St. $59-$69. loudbusiness.com

: Man about town scurrying into every bar, restaurant, nook and cranny looking for all the details to post the events you want to see. Drop me a line if you want your GLBT themed event, meeting, social, gathering, play party, circle jerk, listed online or even if you are one short for your orgy. I always aim to please.....unless its your eye...ouch!!!
