Toronto Leather Pride to host contests and seminars

Toronto Leather Pride is well under way, running until Aug 10, with enough chains and jockstraps to make your mother blush. But the weekend holds the main event, as a new Mr and Ms Leather Toronto look to be sashed.

Friday will give event-goers the opportunity to meet the contestants. Stationed at Woody’s (467 Church St) beginning at 8:30pm, revellers will have the opportunity to meet the judging panel, which includes Farrell Collier, Mr Leatherman Toronto 2014. Enjoy the full fetish party at 11pm down the street at the Black Eagle (457 Church St), hosted by Collier and Patty, Ms Leather Toronto 2014.

Contestants will take to the main stage at the Phoenix Concert Theatre (410 Sherbourne St) at 7pm on Saturday. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Mr Leatherman Toronto competition, a milestone that will be worth celebrating at Leather Ball XX directly after the contest.

Things wrap up on Sunday with the Leather Pride March. Join the parade and party on; the event is open to all members of the fetish community. The meeting point for the parade will be at Barbara Hall (Cawthra) Park at 1:30pm.

If you’re fetish-curious, Toronto Leather Pride offers educational seminars this weekend at the 519 Church Street Community Centre. Whether you’re looking to learn more about puppies or flogging, the workshops cover a wide array of topics sure to educate neophytes and veterans alike.
