Ellen Page comes out as a lesbian, is ‘tired of lying by omission’

Ellen Page came out on Valentine’s Day at the Thrive conference for LGBT youth in Las Vegas.

In an emotional, humorous and touching speech that had the Canadian actress and Academy Award nominee’s voice trembling and eyes welling with tears, Page says she is “tired of lying by omission” about her sexuality.

“I’m here today because I am gay,” Page says, “and because maybe I can make a difference.”
