A queer night at the Oscars

Not to be left out of the annual glitz, glamour and gossip of Oscar night, queers and their allies stepped out for their own self-styled evening at the Oscars here in Vancouver on Feb 27.

Dressed to the nines — or at least a West Coast version of the nines — they sashayed on the de rigueur red carpet, energetically debated their favourites for Best Picture, Actor and Actress, and later waited with bated breath as the winners were announced “live” on the big screen inside Vancity Theatre.

On occasion, the number of editors and other staff who contribute to a story gets a little unwieldy to give a byline to everyone. That’s when we use “Xtra Staff” in place of the usual contributor info. If you would like more information on who contributed to a particular story, please contact us here.
