Toronto Bear Bash

The Village has a new bear party. Hosted by Glad Day and bearforest.com, the gathering begins with a boozy social, and this is followed by a DJ’d bash. Bears and their admirers won’t want to miss it, because as the song goes: For every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain, because today’s the day the teddy bears have their piiiiiicnic (errr, dance party).

9pm–2am. Bar 499, 499 Church St. For more info, visit Facebook.

Beef Curtains: Dottie’s Big Opening

Bio queen (that is, a drag queen who is a cisgender woman) Dottie Dangerfield is producing her own variety show, and the theme is her lovely vagina. The event, billed as a celebration of “the most holy of holes,” features drag, burlesque and live music. It includes such performers as Igby Lizard, Allysin Chaynes, Beardonce, Boa and Cherry Poppins.

10pm–2am. The Steady, 1051 Bloor St W. For more info, visit Facebook.

Trans Day of Remembrance: Existence is Resistance

In light of the recent US election, it is perhaps more important than ever for the community to come together for the Trans Day of Remembrance at the local queer community centre. It’s a gathering focused on remembering those trans lives that have been lost, and celebrating those that are still here. Child care and peer support are available for attendees.

4pm. The 519, 519 Church St. the519.org

Wednesday, Nov 23

All Boylesque Revue

Burlesque isn’t just about mesmerizing breasts anymore — now it’s about gyrating and twirling boy parts too. For years now, boys have thrown their hats (and genitals) into the ring as performers in the long and storied tradition of burlesque. Hosted by Madam Poynter, tonight’s event features such sexy, silly performers as Layton Desire, Kage Wolfe, El Toro and Dew Lily.
