Surrey gets new gay bathhouse

The granddaddy of the Lower Mainland’s adult entertainment industry is opening a gay bathhouse in Surrey.

The tub, to be called Tony’s after owner Tony Perry, will be located at 10746 King George Highway.

It opens Mar 11, says general manager Jamie Lee Hamilton, a long-time advocate of transsexual and sex-trade worker rights.

The facility will have about 30 rooms, several double rooms, a video lounge and a steam room, Hamilton says.

She says it will be raunchy, “sort of like the old Richards Street Service Club.”

Hamilton says the bathhouse will not be out of place in Surrey due to the emerging queer community there.
