Apartment613 Support Local launch
October is Support Local Month in Ottawa, when artists, musicians and businesses come together to showcase their creativity. Apartment613 held a launch party at MediaStyle on Oct 1. Kitchen Party’s Jose Palacios spun some tunes, Beau’s beer was on tap, and there were tons of giveaways from local businesses. Support Local is sponsored by Beau’s, the city’s Community Arts and Social Engagement branch, and the Public Service Alliance of Canada.

Harvest Noir Fashion Mob
On Sept 6, ladies and gents dressed in their finest black clothing, fascinators and all, to flaunt their style at the annual vintage-inspired Harvest Noir picnic, fashion show and dance party. Now in its fourth year, this year’s theme was Express Yourself, and the secret location was revealed to be the Domtar Lands on Chaudière and Albert islands. Proceeds raised are destined for BioRegional, a non-profit environmental group.
