What to do in Halifax this week

There are a lot of fun and interesting queer events going on this week in Halifax, so check it out:

– After an initial delay, prideHealth is launching their It Gets Better video in the OE Smith Auditorium at the IWK Health Centre. I wrote about the creation of this video previously in Down East, and you can find out more about the premiere here.

DalOut, Dalhousie’s queer group, is hosting a coffee house/coffee clatch at Just Us! on Spring Garden Rd. You can find out more from their Facebook event page.

ISCANS, the Imperial Sovereign Court of Atlantic Nova Scotia, is hosting the Rainbow Community Awards this Friday evening at the Best Western Chocolate Lake. The event will celebrate members of the queer community, including Daniel MacKay, who will be receiving a lifetime achievement award for his work in the queer community over the years. You can find out more about the event here.

The Elderberries will be holding their monthly event this Sunday, from 2pm until 5pm at Spencer House on Morris St. For more information, email them at nselderberries@gmail.com. (I also wrote about the Elderberries in this column.)
