Von Smith’s titanium records

Submitted for your auditory and visual pleasure

I adore Postmodern Jukebox; I’ve pretty much been in love with their retrofuturist covers since I heard their versions of “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “Royals,” by Miche Braden and Puddles Pity Party, respectively.

Now they’ve got a titanium singer, or rather a bulletproof cutie singing a cover of David Guetta’s “Titanium,” featuring Sia.

Performer Von Smith became a bit of a YouTube sensation over his octave-jumping Dreamgirls cover of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” enough so that he ended up touring as Lady Gaga’s opener during her Australian tour (where he performed an equally riff-happy cover of “Halo”).

His latest cover with Postmodern Jukebox is an equally joyful bull’s-eye. Here’s hoping we hear more of this crooning cutie.

The cover of Alice Stoehr's Again, Harder. The book has black letters on a lilac background. In the middle of the cover is a red rectangle with a black line drawing of it. The drawing is of two figures entangled; they have human bodies but animal heads. The same image serves as the background behind the image of the book cover.
