Out in Vancouver: April 2-5, 2015

Choice events in the city this week

Thurs, April 2

Ruffeaster

Easter brings to mind fluffy bunnies, egg hunts, frilly pastel gowns — none of which are going to happen here. Ruff is hot, sweaty men, go-go guys in jockstraps, Mr Ruff candidates mingling with the crowd wearing as little as possible, and baskets that hold the biggest, hairiest eggs around. Watching DJs Bertossi (VAN) and Sniffen (SEA) perform is worth the price of admission alone. 9pm–2am. The Pint, 455 Abbott St. Tickets $20 at Top Drawers, 809 Davie St, and at mnevents.ca or $25 at door.

Popsicle Stand

Ladies, when was the last time you got to suck on something hard and tasty that got you loaded? (Alcoholic popsicles! What were you thinking?) Lipstick Jungle promises 32 flavours, plus DJ Kasha Kennedy, Mina Mercury and tons of sexy women. 9pm-2am. Lux Lounge, 1180 Howe St. No cover before 9pm, $10 after. luxlounge.ca

Fri, April 3

Rubbout Weekend

Not to be confused with Rub One Out, although being around all this gear and hot men you may just be doing that all day. Vancouver’s 24th annual weekend of rubber starts today with a Meat & Greet, followed by the Rub On Rub Off party, featuring the legendary Best Rubber contest, so bring out your best gear and squeeze every inch of manhood into it. Whether you are a freshly scrubbed twink, a big burly bear, or a seasoned rubber soul you will not be alone for long. 8pm–4am. Pumpjack Pub, 1167 Davie St. $5 cover for non-weekend pass holders. Read our Rubbout story here. Full schedule of events at rubbout.com

Sat, April 4

Puppybowl II

Ever wandered around Pumpjack on one of those lazy Saturday afternoons thinking, “Hey, I would really like to sniff that butt,” but you didn’t have the balls? Today is the day you get your chance as Van-PAH and Pup Bowen host their monthly mosh, where pups romp around, play with toys and get friendly as handlers play with the puppies. Puppy gear is admired but not required. 2–5pm. Pumpjack Pub, 1167 Davie St. No cover. Vanpah.com

Sun, Apr 5

Lezhook Up

Okay, so the women I know take 30 minutes just to get ready and 20 minutes to explain where we are going. So please tell me how they can do 15 four-minute dates in one night and still get more action than a gay guy begging in a bathhouse? It must be working since this lesbian-owned and -operated group has been holding these nights successfully since 2008. Meet more than 15 single lesbians and have appies all in one night. 7–10pm. The Cove, 3681 West 4th Ave. Cost $28 and must preregister online at lezhookup.com

: Man about town scurrying into every bar, restaurant, nook and cranny looking for all the details to post the events you want to see. Drop me a line if you want your GLBT themed event, meeting, social, gathering, play party, circle jerk, listed online or even if you are one short for your orgy. I always aim to please.....unless its your eye...ouch!!!
