A Fateful Meeting Of Femmes Fatales

Leaping Thespians — and no I am not lisping! Vancouver’s lesbian acting troupe brings you a “little harmless dinner party with friends.” Things don’t go as planned when five friends get together for a murder mystery party: personalities clash, emotions take over, jealousy rears its ugly head and it all makes for a very entertaining night. Read our story here. 8pm. Havana Restaurant, 1212 Commercial Dr. Tickets $20 at leapingthespians.ca. Show runs until Sat, April 25.

Fri, April 17

Backdoor

The term might make some straight men run away in fear but fear not, this is a pain-free version of rear entry. “Art, music, and sexy come together for one night of an all-out gay/straight pop-up party that will make you gag,” promises organizer Matt Troy. Don’t forget to try the Ball Pit. You can find out for yourself what that is but guys, you have been warned. 10pm. Vancouver Art & Leisure, 1965 Main St, backdoor entrance (of course). $15 at door for first hour, $20 after 11pm. Find more here on Facebook.

Sat, April 18

Flawless

With a night of Beyoncé-themed art and music you can bet there will be more drag queens performing here as Queen B than at a Jay-Z concert. This fundraiser for the Positive Women’s Network promises 60-plus participating artists and 80 art submissions relating to Beyoncé — plus all the tight spandex and leotard outfits you can imagine. Performances start at 10pm. Doors 7pm. Studio East, 1480 Frances St. Tickets $8 at eventbrite.com Show runs until Sat, May 9. Find more here on Facebook.

Battle Of the Bulge

It may sound like a Jennie Craig wrestling match but you are in for a treat. With more stuffing than a turkey at Christmas, the jockstraps at Pumpjack will be bursting with talent tonight. Come cheer for your favourite guy as he struts in just a jock, vying for the title of Master Bulge! 9pm. Pumpjack Pub, 1167 Davie St. No cover. Find more here on Facebook.

Sun, April 19

The Ladies Light Their Way

What do you get when Justine Tyme, Carlotta Gurl, Willie Taylor and the best soul singer in town, Sibel Thrasher, join forces? No, not the new Golden Girls! It’s the makings of a fundraiser to remember. Ticket sales will support IOM’s Global Solar Lanterns Initiative to help communities stop violence against women and girls. 6pm cocktails and silent auction. 7pm show. The Junction, 1138 Davie St. Tickets $20 at Little Sister’s, 1238 Davie St or ticketstonight.com. Find more here on Facebook.

The Ryan And Amy Show

You may know him as the strange, half-naked bartender at 1181, but I know him as the man who put me in his video that got over 1 million hits on YouTube! (Find it yourself.) Ryan Steele is actually one half of this sketch comedy duo with Amy Goodmurphy. You never know what you’re going to see, but to be safe put on your Depends because you may just pee a bit more than you planned. 8–10pm tonight and Thursday night. The Junction, 1138 Davie St. Tickets $12. ryanandamyshow.com

: Man about town scurrying into every bar, restaurant, nook and cranny looking for all the details to post the events you want to see. Drop me a line if you want your GLBT themed event, meeting, social, gathering, play party, circle jerk, listed online or even if you are one short for your orgy. I always aim to please.....unless its your eye...ouch!!!
