Clubbin’

Pitbull: Get Stuffed

Like any other holiday, Thanksgiving is a time to make suggestive party names. Entertainment includes DJ Chez and the lasciviously gyrating naughty bits of a couple go-go boys. And with a dark room available, your turkey’s not the only thing getting stuffed this weekend (unless, of course, you call your butt “turkey”).

Friday, Oct 9, 10pm. Fly 2.0, 6 Gloucester St. pitbullevents.com

Home Turf

Masters, slaves, rubber men and puppy boys — a veritable rollicking pirate ship full of ne’er do wells and blaggards — enjoy Mr Black Eagle 2015’s leather and fetish night. With bootblack Polo Izquierdo on hand, this month’s party offers a plank-walkingly good welcome to The Arktos Bears, a group of bears and bear enthusiasts from Ohio.

Friday, Oct 9, 10pm. The Black Eagle, 457 Church St. blackeagletoronto.com

Go Hard: Noir

DJ Blackcat invites folks to come out and celebrate his birthday at this annual black-clothing-only dance party. He and DJs Pleasure, Lissa Monet and Craig Dominic spin hits, and there’s an appearance by pornstar XL. He is not performing, but as billing for the event says, “the more you show him love, the less he will wear.”

Sunday, Oct 11, 10:30pm. Club 120, 120 Church St. club120.ca

Theatre

Oasis Love

Battling a manipulative boyfriend and self-delusion, the love-stricken Damien struggles to navigate his first real relationship. Johnny Salib’s one-man show includes projections, music and more audience interaction than you can shake a queer theatrical experience at.

Thursday, Oct 8–Saturday, Oct 10, 8pm. Buddies in Bad Times, 12 Alexander St. buddiesinbadtimes.com

Words

Tell Me Something Good: Falling for You

Ten to 15 audience volunteers tell their filthy anecdotes to a crowd and a panel of judges at this Come As You Are sponsored event. Each event has a different theme, and this time around, in honour of the season, performers are asked to tell stories that either give thanks to someone special or are about falling for someone or something.

Tuesday, Oct 13, 7:30pm. The Gladstone hotel, 1214 Queen St W. tmsgstories.com

Naked Heart: The LGBTQ Festival of Words

Hosted by Toronto’s beloved Glad Day Bookshop, the first annual Canadian queer literary festival intends to promote “love, language and freedom.” The inaugural event includes more than 100 authors — Mike Miksche, Adam Garnet Jones, S Bear Bergman, Giles Benaway, and many more — presenting panels, workshops and readings at four venues in the Village.

Friday, Oct 16–Sunday, Oct 18. For more info, visit nakedheart.ca
