Love you inside & out

I’m suspicious. I think Inside Out is on steroids. No, I haven’t seen the telltale bacne. It’s just that there’s no natural way to explain the rapid growth of Toronto’s gay and lesbian film festival.

This year, the festival helps inaugurate downtown’s first super-duper-mega-movieplex – along with the new Star Wars movie – and hopes to see 20,000 homos attend its queer indie films.

Ellen Flanders, the festival’s executive director since 1996, has been the force behind the festival’s startling growth. She’s been convinced that we deserve to see the best queer films at the best venues, and she’s had the chutzpah to make it happen. Congratulations, Ellen. You have contributed enormously to the queer cultural life of Toronto.
