Glee gets Glam: Ryan Murphy announces Adam Lambert to join Fox show

Putting to bed rumours that he’s leaving the show to focus on his new HBO series Open, Glee creator Ryan Murphy took to Twitter to make a special announcement about the upcoming fifth season:

“I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall,” Murphy tweeted.

No word on who Adam will play or how many episodes he’ll be in, but a little glam on Glee sounds like a great way to revitalize the show and Adam’s music career. Kill two birds with one sequin, as the saying goes.

Glee is really irresistible, it’s charming,” Adam recently told The Hollywood Reporter. The former real-life Glee Club member has an affinity for the show because it “really paints a picture of what it’s like to be an arts kid in high school.”

Season 5 of Glee premieres Sept 19 on Fox.
