Christopher Rice strips for selfie after losing award

Well, they say the best revenge is looking good.

Rice’s novel The Heavens Rise was nominated for a Bram Stoker Award, and the gay author took to Facebook to tell his followers that if he didn’t win for Superior Achievement in a Novel, he’d be stripping to get the attention he deserves.

“If I don’t win the Bram Stoker Award tonight expect mad shirtless selfie action in a desperate clawing bid for validation,” Rice wrote.

After failing to pick up the award, Rice stayed true to his word.

“A promise is a promise,” he wrote. “Since I didn’t win the Stoker tonight it’s time to start preparing my costume for Romantic Times in New Orleans next weekend.”
