V-Day and sexual satire

Sexuality hits the stage

Last week it was drag; this weekend it’s all about vaginas, threesomes and spoken word.

A week of celebrating women continues on Friday and Saturday with The Vagina Monologues at Carleton University. It’s a must for those who haven’t seen it and for those who want to celebrate female sexuality out loud. The monologues are performed in celebration of V Day and all proceeds will go to the Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre, the Coalition for a Carleton Sexual Assault Centre and the V-Day organization.

The weekend continues with sex-positive performances by the Sexual Overtones on Saturday at the Dom Polski Hall in Centre Town. It will be an evening of sexual satire and hot steamy acts suitable for a Ménage à Trois. All proceeds from the show will go to Planned Parenthood Ottawa.

Tired of vaginas and threesomes? VerseFest is happening all weekend at the Arts Court Theatre. A weeklong festival of poetry, spoken word and poetry slams.
