The University of Notre Dame has released a You Can Play video letting all LGBT students know they are “home” at the school and on its sport teams.
This is the second video released by Notre Dame showing solidarity for the gay community; last month the school shared a profile on tennis player Matt Dooley’s coming out.
“I started to realize, obviously, that a lot of it was a problem with me,” Dooley said of staying in the closet. “That I wasn’t allowing myself to be successful and to accept myself and accept the trust and love of my parents.”
The message of both videos is “If you can play, you can play,” and all I have to say is I am jealous of the lucky photographer who took this shot of Notre Dame’s football players. He’s definitely on his knees . . .
