WorldPride 2014 Toronto (#WP14TO) has just added Hercules and Love Affair, Crystal Waters and Neon Hitch to the lineup of performers slated for the festival.

After announcing earlier this week that world-renowned artist Melissa Etheridge will perform at the opening ceremonies, WorldPride’s organizers have added three new artists to the roster.

“Dancing in the streets is a political act,” writes TK, arts and culture manager for WorldPride, in a press release. “It is an expression of joy, of freedom — freedoms often denied to us in communities and countries all around the world.”

Hercules and Love Affair, a musical project from New York-based DJ Andy Butler, will have released a new album, The Feast of the Broken Heart, this May, with single “Do You Feel the Same?” coming in April. House-singer legend Crystal Waters, best known for her single “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless)” and “100% Pure Love,” saw her latest single, “Oh, Mama, Hey,” reach number one on the Billboard dance charts after eight weeks. British performer Neon Hitch released her latest mixtape, 301 to Paradise, earlier this year and won the NewNowNext Award for Brink of Fame in 2012.

Hercules and Love Affair, Crystal Waters and Neon Hitch join already-announced headlining performers Deborah Cox, Martha Wash and DJs David Morales and Quentin Harris.

WorldPride takes place Fri, June 20–Sun, June 29 all over Toronto. Be sure to visit WorldPride 2014 Toronto’s website and check back to Daily Xtra for more WorldPride details as they unfold.
