The three things you need this Cinco de Mayo

One tequila, two tequila, three tequila… floor more!

Hola bambinos – Happy Cinco de Mayo! There are three things a gay needs to enjoy this Mexican celebration: food, margaritas and Selena! So, here are my top picks of where to go to enjoy the festivities in Vancouver.

For the best margarita in town, head over to Tequila Kitchen in Yaletown for authentic Mexican botanas and, you guessed it… tequila, which history aside, is really what this holiday is all about!

But if you’re in the mood for nachos, skip Tequila Kitchen because they’re not on the menu (I know, WTF).

For your nacho fix, I recommend The Foundation on Main. On Cinco de Mayo, you might not automatically think of going to a vegetarian restaurant run by a bunch of hipsters who look like they never shower, but The Foundation’s nachos are supreme! They don’t start serving them until after four, but the huge platters, topped with the delicious daily specials, are so tasty they would’ve made Karen Carpenter gluttonous.

Lastly, check out the video below for a little Selena to get you in the mood and jugar sobre seguro, boys.
