After getting more than a dozen different seasons of Drag Race around the world in 2022—with several new franchises on the horizon in 2023—the new year is set to kick off with a return to the original werk room.
Season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Race will premiere on Jan. 6, 2023, on MTV in the United States and Crave in Canada, bringing back the original American franchise that started it all. While recent vs The World and All Stars seasons have seen returning queens and even all returning winners, Season 15 will, as the original series does best, introduce a new crop of American faces to Drag Race fans.
With 16 queens competing, it’s the largest cast in RuPaul’s Drag Race herstory. And it’s offering the largest main series prize in history—$200,000.
Here are all of the fresh new faces competing to snatch that crown, including a pair of biological twins and a former Miss Continental. And stay tuned for Jan. 6, when the new season (and Xtra’s weekly recaps and power rankings from Kevin O’Keeffe) drop.
