Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna opened last night, Sept 6, to an enthusiastic audience. The much-anticipated production, directed by Diane Paulus, has a heavier plotline than other Cirque shows, but its mesmerizing visual feats remain centre stage.
“It’s a visual feast for anyone to come and see this show,” says artistic director Mark Pawsey.
Although the show is being called “a tribute to the work and voice of women,” one of the more delightful visual attractions is the hard-bodied male lead, Edouard Doye, featured in the video below.
Amaluna is playing in Toronto until Nov 4. The show then moves on to Vancouver.
