Ruggers bare it all for art

Ottawa Wolves launch 2011 Calendar

The wolves are rapidly becoming one of the most active and attention-seeking queer sporting clubs in town. In the last few months they have thrown “kick-ass” parties, auctioned off their jock straps, competed in the Bingham Cup (an international gay rugby tournament) and now are prepping for the launch of their raunchy 2011 calendar.

The calendar features 12 sexy photos of the boys in various states of undress — from fetish wear and jockstraps to boys in drag.

Dan Ziemkiewicz, the communications officer for the Ottawa Wolves, and Martyna Piechowski, art director, have been working on the calendar for the best part of the year. The two have worked on the concepts for the calendar — Piechowski concentrating on the creative aspects and Ziemkiewicz on the photography.

The launch of the calendar will be held at La Petite Mort Gallery on Thursday, Aug 19 from 7 — 9pm. If you miss the launch, be sure to watch the Wolves play in front of Parliament on Aug 28.

See the photo gallery for various shots from the photo shoots.
