International Day Against Homophobia

Facts about today:

May 17 is the International Day Against Homophobia because on this day in 1990, homosexuality was finally removed from the World Health Organization’s list of mental illnesses.

Homosexuality is illegal in 77 countries.

In seven of those 77 countries, men, women and children can be put to death because of their sexuality.

Until 1969, it was a crime to be gay in Canada.

Gay youth are five times more likely to kill themselves than heterosexual youth because of the homophobia they face in society, their communities, their schools and their homes.

By being yourself and by being proud, you are a peaceful warrior in the fight against hate. May there be no blood on your hands, just a shitz load of glitter!
