Thai gay “throuple” gets married

Three gay Thai men have married each other in an informal Buddhist ceremony. The three say they met and fell in love, and then decided to get married after one developed a congenital illness. “Some people may not agree and are probably amazed by our decision, but we believe many people do understand and accept our choice,” one of the men said. “Love is love, after all.”

The first gay marriage in Latin America was a fake

In 2009, Argentinians Alex Freyre and José María Di Bello became the first married same-sex couple in Latin America. More than five years later, the couple now admits that the marriage was a fake; Freyre and Di Bello pretended to be a couple to serve as a test case for same-sex marriage. The two men, who are now divorcing, say they are friends and were fuckbuddies before the marriage.

Tijuana moves to legalize same-sex marriage

The Mexican city of Tijuana, just south of San Diego on the California border, is moving to legalize same-sex marriage under municipal law. Mexico has seen a wave of same-sex marriages in recent months, as the Supreme Court gives out amparos, or individual orders for gay couples to marry.

Malcolm Boyd dies

Priest, gay activist, author and hollywood producer Malcolm Boyd has died at the age of 91. Boyd was renowned as a poet and an activist, fighting against racial segregation and then later for gay rights when he came out in 1976. He is survived by his husband, and more than 30 books that he wrote or edited.

Egypt arrests seven for alleged gay sex

Egyptian police have arrested seven men, whom local media refer to as “transsexuals,” for allegedly agreeing to participate in gay sex. Police created an entrapment scheme by creating fake websites, asking the men to meet them at a bar, and then arresting them. Egypt is in the midst of a crackdown on homosexuality, in which 26 men were recently arrested and then acquitted of debauchery.

 

South Korean televised gay kiss causes uproar

A kiss between two high school girls in a Korean television drama has caused a wave of complaints, according the the country’s broadcast regulatory body. The two girls kissed during an episode of Seonam Girls High School Investigators. An unidentified member of the show’s crew told local media the show was devised as a way of introducing homosexuality to Korean audiences, and promoting acceptance.
