City postpones Pride audit talks

Public delegations about audit recommendations on the Pride Week Committee have been moved again.

City council received and tabled the 2007 Annual Repot and 2007 Detailed Audit Reports of the Office of the Auditor General at its meeting on Jun 11, 2008 for referral to the appropriate Standing Committees.

Audit recommendations were supposed to be considered by these committees, and then Council was to refer all audit recommendations where management was in disagreement to the Council Audit Working Group for resolution on June 25, 2008.

At today’s council meeting however, councillor Maria McRae motioned that talks of the Pride Week Committee audit, along with others, be deferred to the city council meeting on Aug 28, 2008.

This means that the recommendations of the Standing Committee on the Pride Week audit won’t be heard until after this year’s Capital Pride.
