BY NATASHA BARSOTTI – ABC4 News reports that flaming objects were thrown at clubbers at a gay Salt Lake City, Utah, nightclub in the early morning hours of Aug 16.
There were no reports of injuries in the attack, Gay Star News says.
An eyewitness, Fernando Noriega, told ABC4 that about 30 to 40 people were congregated at Club Jam when a flaming object that looked like fireworks came over the fence. After several more fiery missiles followed, the crowd realized that wasn’t the case.
While a few people attempted to put out the flames, Noriega says he and a couple others jumped the fence to go looking for the attackers and saw three young men fleeing in a car. Someone who lives near the club says he also saw the incident and observed three young men who had been hiding behind a nearby dumpster.
Both Noriega and the neighbour, Regan Mower, say there was “no way you couldn’t have known the patio was packed,” ABC4 reports.
Noriega alleges that the act was “definitely malicious.”
Police are appealing to those with information about the incident to come forward.
