Trailer for Madonna’s WE

Here is the first complete trailer for Madonna’s second directorial effort, WE. It looks visually stunning, which isn’t surprising, since the reviewers at the Venice and Toronto film festivals have noted its style, although they were divided on the strength of the script. Madonna wrote the film with Alek Keshishian, the director of her 1991 tour documentary, Truth or Dare. I’m fascinated by Wallis Simpson (played by Andrea Riseborough, whose performance critics have praised) and think it fitting and audacious of Madonna to tell her story. WE hits theatres Dec 9.
