Some people are outraged about 10-year-old Thylane Blondeau’s French Vogue fashion spread. Thylane is featured, along with other young girls, in the article “Quel Maquillage à Quel Âge?” or, in English, “What Makeup at What Age?” Although I think it’s somewhat ridiculous to suggest that a 10-year-old needs any makeup, I don’t see the problem with the photos.
Koa Beck, an editor from mommyish.com, seems to disagree. She told ABC News, “I think that I’m seeing a very young girl being sexualized, being gazed at in a very adult way.”
I don’t think there’s anything sexual about the pictures. And if people are gazing at her in an adult way, well, isn’t that their own sick fault? How can you blame the magazine? I think Thylane looks beautiful, and I don’t see any difference between playing dress-up at home and playing dress-up for French fucking Vogue.
Is it wrong that I’m jealous?
