Pride weekend begins with sparkling Starry Nights at the 519

519 Community Centre kicks off series of weekend parties

Pride weekend kicks off with 1001 Starry Nights, an elegant outdoor soiree at the 519 Church Street Community Centre June 30.

Hundreds mingled and danced in Cawthra Park as performers dazzled on stage. While the music played, plates of delicious treats prepared by Fabarnak were passed around.

As the sun went down, a roster of performers entertained on the stage. The performers included DJ Sylosurf, Arabesque Dance Company and Drummers and Sofonda Cox. The host for the evening was Miss Butterfly.

The event marked the beginning of the 519’s series of weekend parties, continuing with One World on Saturday, Lipstick Jungle on Saturday and the Treehouse party on Sunday.
