Back It Up

It might sound like a night at Carlotta Gurl’s place after a few tacos and shots, but this is actually a new night on Davie Street. Relive the music of the early oughties — that musical decade we all secretly like — with DJs Jane Smoker and Lisa DeLux. Hosted by the incredibly limber and often naked Berlin M Stiller, with Tiffany Ann Co and Janessa. 10pm-3am. Celebrities Nightclub, 1022 Davie St. $5 cover. celebritiesnightclub.com

Stretch Your Way To Well-Being

Summer and Pride are coming, and it’s time to get back some flexibility and stamina before all the hot tourists come to Vancouver. You can pretend it’s for your own well-being, but who are we kidding? Learn new techniques with a mix of solo and partner assisted stretches and be ready for whatever comes your way. 7-8:30pm. Scotiabank Dance Centre, Level 4, 677 Davie St. Free or by donation. To register, or for more information, email register@checkhimout.ca or phone 604-488-1001.

Party For Pride

All of you “nothing new ever happens on Davie Street” naysayers should break your routine and travel to New Westminster — it’s only one Skytrain ride away to the burbs — and enjoy a night of dessert and dancing. At the same time, help out the New Westminster Pride Society raise money for this year’s Pride festival and street party. 8:30pm. Status Nightclub, 27 Church St, New Westminster. Tickets $10 and info at www.facebook.com/events/1418054678499256/

Hustla: Mayhem — Peach Vs Jane

Got nothing to do Saturday night, and love a good rap battle featuring a drag queen? See Peach Cobblah and Jane Smoker square off in some rap battle action. This is the “best hip hop and R&B with the gayest, sweatiest dancefloor a girl could hope for.” So come and join the mayhem. 10pm. The Cobalt, 917 Main St. Cover $9 before 11pm, $12 after.

Sunday, May 10

Sunday Service

The Fox Cabaret isn’t a porn venue these days; it is a multi-room performance venue which hosts Vancouver’s longest running independent comedy night each Sunday. Featuring Caitlin Howden, Ryan Beil and more, this show gets packed. 7:30-10:30pm. Fox Cabaret, 2321 Main St. Admission $7. www.foxcabaret.com

Bingo For Life 20th Anniversary

A night of Robyn Graves, Joan-E and Carlotta Gurl handling more balls than a party at an Ikea play pit. This is the 20th anniversary of dabbing, prize winning, fundraising and volunteering for Bingo For Life. Come in and raise a glass to cheer them on and support one of the best events for the Vancouver Friends For Life Society. 8-10:30pm. Celebrities Nightclub, 1022 Davie St. $10 donation includes bingo cards. celebritiesnightclub.com
