Out on Bay Street Annual Conference

Students meet prospective employers and mentors and learn about queer issues in the workplace at this annual conference. With the theme of “Defining Yourself,” this year’s conference includes a variety of workshops, panels, and six mingle-heavy receptions.

Buddies’ Season Launch Party

Toronto’s local queer theatre kicks off another pink and glittery year with a big, silly bash. DJ Phil V spins, Kelsey Slammer does whatever Kelsey does, and new artistic director evalyn parry receives hugs. There’s dancing, cupcakes and cupcake dancing. (Hey, why not?)

Thunderbear

As part of the remixing team Thunderpuss, DJ Barry Harris gave us a variety of well-known remixes, including the most famous version of Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay.” Now the daddy of disco is mixing it up at a dance party downtown.

No Recip

A Bearded Boy and Deviant Otter present a bash billed as “a dark, sex-positive party for the Toronto bar scene.” This third edition includes music by DJ Leather Data and is open to people of all genders. Nudity is not only permitted, it’s welcomed.

Purpleelectricity Prince Party

Prince fanatics celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the album Around the World in a Day — which includes “Raspberry Beret,” “Pop Life” and “Paisley Park” — at an all-Prince video dance party. DJ Doctor Baggie spins music from Prince’s entire career.

I’m Sexy and I Know It

After last year’s sold out event, The Rose Centre for Love, Sex and Disability is once again hosting a night of fashion and performance. Folks, both disabled and able-bodied, will strut or roll up the catwalk in celebration of body positivity.
