The Terrible Parents
There are few things quite as marvellous, disorienting and — let’s face it — arousing as comedian Gavin Crawford in a dress and wig. The host of the new CBC radio show Because News stars alongside Edward Roy in the legendary Sky Gilbert’s latest play. They are maniacal parents in a send-up of idyllic family life. The play also features Katie Sly and Robin Sharp.
Runs until Sunday, April 17, various showtimes. Buddies in Bad Times, 12 Alexander St. buddiesinbadtimes.com
Bad Girls of History
The well-behaved women of history always kept their mouths shut. They always smiled, curtsied properly and knew how to make a fine meal and stay out of the way. Blazing Bombshell Burlesque’s show is not about those women, but rather the passionate, strong, inspiring women of days gone by. It includes such performers as Dainty Box, Sam Antics, Tanya Cheex and Zyra Lee Vanity.

LGBTQ Volunteer Fair
Summer: a time to be spent fulfilling your every desire. Indulging your every whim. Giving no thought to those whose brittle faces you step on as you traipse about the city screaming “meeeee!” Or you could do some good, you slovenly swine. This fair connects community-minded folks with a slew of organizations in need of volunteers. For more information, contact volunteer@the519.org.

Whatchu Know Bout Me?
Heartbreaker you’ve got the best of me. But I just keep on comin’ back incessantly. Oh! I wanna dance with somebody. I wanna feel the heat with somebody. Yeah! I wanna dance with somebody. With somebody who loves me. Okay, maybe written mash-ups don’t work that well, but those who recognize these lyrics are probably big enough Mariah and Whitney fans to enjoy this dance party focused on their music.

Drag in a Bag: Spring Affair
A bunch of wannabe drag queens get a random bag containing an entire drag outfit, spin a wheel to select a spring-themed song, and mash that all together into a performance. Skipper Meds hosts an unusual drag competition in support of Nuit Rose, the annual queer art and performance festival. Includes a performance by special guest Dottie Dangerfield.

Embodied Life Drawing
Many of the best sculptures to come out of the Renaissance are of the naked human form, created by hands so skilled they must have been guided by god. Or guided by raging hormones — those guys were horny buggers. So there’s no need for attendees of this nude life drawing session to feel guilty about their conflicting motives. This session features two male models.
7pm. Glad Day Bookshop, 598 Yonge St. For more info, visit Facebook.
