In collaboration with Xtra.ca and OUTtv, host Matt Thomas chased down the best of the queer stories from the 2007 festival. We’ll be releasing a new segment right here each week. Don’t miss any of them. And don’t forget to tune-in to OUTtv for the complete series and our special presentation coverage of the whole event, coming soon.

I’M NOT THERE:

SYNOPSIS: Todd Haynes’ biopic of iconic musician and artist Bob Dylan recreates some of the seminal moments in Dylan’s life. Haynes has several actors portray Dylan including Heath Ledger, Christian Bale Richard Gere, and astonishingly Cate Blanchett, who gives an ingenious performance.

“What’s cool about I’m Not There is that [Haynes] kind of mashes this all together by finding… different ways of portraying Bob Dylan, most famously by using Cate Blanchett to play a man, to question the whole idea of gender construction of celebrity,” says Toronto International Film Festival co-director Noah Cowan.
