Melissa Etheridge releases official video for ‘Uprising of Love’

Ever since the Sochi Olympics ended, the level of scrutiny focused on Russia’s anti-gay policies has died off. Granted, a big part of that was based on Russia and Ukraine’s fight over Crimea, so yay! You ducked out of your anti-gay image by adopting an even worse image. Good for you.

Thankfully, Melissa Etheridge has committed herself to helping out Russia’s LGBT community with her latest song, “Uprising of Love.” The video (seen above) features footage of anti-gay violence in Russia, and all proceeds from the song will go toward the Russian Freedom Fund.
