If you’re looking for a family-friendly alternative your best bet is to join the Vancouver New Year’s Eve Celebration Society. Join thousands of others outdoors at the city’s first free downtown New Year’s Eve party in over a decade. Festivities begin at 6pm on Canada Place Way for an evening of live music, food trucks and entertainment. The countdown will be immediately followed by a fireworks display launched from a barge in Coal Harbour.
Get some exercise
Don’t laugh — this is a real option. While a midnight jog might not seem like the most festive way to celebrate 2016, it’s certainly a healthier alternative. The trend of NYE midnight fun runs is catching on and they’re a great way to prove you’re not all talk. Get a start on those resolutions right away before you give up on them in February.
