Leon Laidlaw (they/he) is an Assistant Professor in Sociology and Gender and Women’s Studies at Brandon University. They are a white settler trans scholar who weaves together critical criminology, trans studies, and Indigenous studies. Their research explores Two-Spirit and trans people’s experiences of incarceration and his approach is informed by the traditions of prison abolition and Indigenous self-determination. He speaks English and lives in Brandon, Manitoba.
