Trans-affirming prison policies are being revoked in parts of Canada and the U.S. We need to protect Two-Spirit and trans people in prisons
Fallon Aubee
Fallon Aubee (she/her) is a Two-Spirit Métis trans woman with 25 years of lived experience of incarceration. She is committed to strengthening existing laws and creating new laws that protect Indigenous Peoples and the cultural aspects of the Two-Spirit. Her work focuses on re-affirming and advancing the rights of incarcerated people. In 2017, she won a 12-year human rights battle against Correctional Service Canada, which was part of a momentous change to how Two-Spirit and trans people are treated in federal prisons. She is committed to ensuring that The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) is not overlooked or disregarded. Having lost access to her traditional language (Michif), she speaks English and French and lives in New Westminster, British Columbia.
