Choice events in the city this week

Thursday, Nov 9

Art Attack

Each year, the local queer theatre puts on a glamorous and outrageous art auction focused on work by queer artists. This year’s event is hosted by The B-Girlz and has a disco beach party theme. To view all the items featured at the event, click here. The venue is accessible.

7–11pm. Buddies in Bad Times, 12 Alexander St. For more info, visit Facebook.

Home Turf, featuring Femme Invasion with Dee

Sadly, it’s rare thing to find a kink event on Church Street that welcomes women. Look no further! Hosted by Dee, this edition of a monthly leather and fetish bar night in the Village is open to women. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best gear. The venue is not accessible.

10pm–2am. Black Eagle, 457 Church St. For more info, visit Facebook.

Friday, Nov 10

Naked Boys Reading: Local Heroes

Boys of every description strip off and give live readings of their favourite passages. This is just one of the many events taking place at Glad Day Bookshop’s 2017 Naked Heart LGBT literary festival. The venue is mostly accessible (there are no buttons to open the front door or accessible washroom door).

9–10:30pm. Glad Day Bookshop, 499 Church St. For more info, visit Facebook.

Pretty Munny Productions Presents: Kings and Classics

Drag kings old and new strut their stuff on stage at this monthly performance night. Hosted by performers/producers Spencer Munny and Pretty Riikkii, this edition includes a special performance by bioqueen Dottie Dangerfield. Stay late for a dance party with DJ Johnny B Goode. The venue is accessible.

10:30pm. Buddies in Bad Times, 12 Alexander St. For more info, visit Facebook.

The event’s well-earned anniversary shindig features performances by drag queens Juice Boxx and Allysin Chaynes, and celebratory tunes by DJs Nino Brown, Sammy Rawal and Phil V. There will be cake. The venue is not accessible.
