The Taming of the Shrew
Driftwood Theatre Group puts its own spin on Shakespeare’s misogynistic classic play. Set during Toronto Pride in 1989, this version explores themes of sexuality and kink and, according to billing, it showcases “equality, the LGBTQ community and consensual romance.”

Pitbull: Camp Boozy
For the fifth year in a row, the organizers of the Pitbull parties — parties for big, gruff, pitbull-like men — host a sexy camping weekend at a gay men’s campground. It includes DJ Chez spinning, and such activities as boozy pool olympics, boozy twister and a boozy barn dance. Booking in advance is recommended.

The Toronto Gaymers: Pokemon Go Village Walk
Regardless of what team you’re on, it’s always safer to travel in a group. Attendees go on a walking tour of the village to get items via Pokestops and possibly do some gym takeovers. The purpose of this event is to promote safe Pokemon hunting. Attendees are encouraged to bring water, comfortable shoes and a good attitude.

The recurring dance party for women comes early this month, because nobody wants to stay in town for the long weekend. According to billing, DJs Sticky Cuts and Recklezz spin music that’s “heavy on the low BPM goodness.” This means everything that’s hip hop or kind of like hip hop — soca, dancehall and R&B included.

The Biggest Lover

Church Street Comedy with Scott Thompson
