Stonewall named national monument
US President Barack Obama attended the dedication of the Stonewall Inn in New York City on Monday as the country’s first national monument to LGBT rights. The inn was the starting point of legendary riots in 1969 that sparked the modern gay rights movement. Meanwhile, the Washington Post writes about the contested history of the riots, including the theory they were partly sparked by the death of Judy Garland.

In a new study, researchers at Columbia university look at why bi men don’t disclose their sexual orientation, especially to female partners. Men reported experiencing extreme stigma for being bi, and being worried it would destabilize romantic relationships.

US Supreme Court strikes down Texas abortion restrictions
The US Supreme Court has ruled in a 5-3 decision that Texas laws restriction abortion clinics are unconstitutional. The laws demanded clinics meet high regulatory standards that effectively made them impossible to run. The court ruled that these standards had nothing to do with health, and everything to do with antagonism towards women’s constitutional right to abortion.
