RuPaul rings the NASDAQ bell, releases music video with twerking boys

Today is the premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6, in case you missed the New York Times article and the ads on OUTtv and the Times Square billboard. (Yes, they have a billboard in Times Square. BEST THING EVER.)

To promote the season premiere, RuPaul was given the opportunity to ring the closing bell at NASDAQ. You know society has come weirdly far when drag queens are now closing the second biggest stock exchange in the world. It’s a very specific milestone, but we finally crossed it. Three cheers for the gradual march toward enlightenment!

But who are we kidding? We all know what you’re here for: safe-for-work male erotica! YEAH! So here’s RuPaul’s video for “Geronimo,” the latest single off her new album Born Naked, featuring Julian Serrano twerking.

In all seriousness, though, it’s a really good thing that people from different walks are finally starting to open up to the drag world. I mean, we still have a long walk before LGBT rights become a global thing, but at least in the meantime we have shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race trying to chip away at the divide.
