Oh, those Russians . . .

The members of Toronto’s Choir! Choir! Choir! are protesting the Sochi Olympics the best way they know how — through song.

The group, which sings together twice a week, usually tackles cover songs and masterfully turns them into joyous group anthems, but founders Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman have kicked things up a notch in light of the Olympics.

“This past week, we sang a newly written version of the Sting song ‘Russians’ as a protest of Russia’s backwards laws on LGBTQ, Putin’s attitudes, etc . . .” Goldman tells Xtra. “We are very proud of it.”

Sting’s original single was released in 1985 as a protest song against the Cold War.
