Village sex shop One in Ten has all your holiday needs covered

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go — including at One in Ten’s second-floor digs at 256 Bank St, at the corner of Cooper Street in the heart of the Village.

This location has proudly donned its gay flag apparel for close to three years, beckoning passersby to come upstairs and get a little porn, a few toys or some back-room cinema at modest prices.

One in Ten is an uncomplicated place where men — gay, straight or flexible — can enjoy their sexuality. Owner Tom Ramsey says he offers some of the best porn in the city. Gay, lesbian, straight and trans options fill the shop’s newly expanded sexual library, with titles starting as low as $1.

With the cold and snow having taken over the city with no sign of subsiding, what better way to welcome the holidays than with a little jolly for ol’ saint dick?

The store’s impressive and cheap selection of porn can easily provide a simple, unexpected stocking stuffer. One in Ten also has a selection of sex toys, including the Fleshlight — clearly a crowd favourite, it’s been used to decorate a display near the cash register.

There is also a small selection of nipple clips, whips, cuffs, restraints, muzzles and paddles.

Calling all Betty Cockers — my favourite item is the store’s cupcake tins shaped as penises and breasts.

Ramsey regrets that he’s no longer able to sell poppers, thanks to the federal ban, but he still has a decent selection of herbal stimulants and erection-prolonging sprays. He also sells several types of lube, leather-strap key chains and even chewing gum.

The popular gay cinema at the back of the shop is only $9 for an entire day’s access of pre- and post-shopping pleasure — or you can go for the $6-after-6pm special. One in Ten’s hours vary, but they are currently Monday to Saturday from noon to 8pm.
