Parents outraged by Kinky Boots performance during Macy’s Parade

Yesterday, the United States celebrated their Thanksgiving, a day to reflect on how grateful they are for the little things in life before they go out and curb-stomp a mother of three at a Black Friday sale for 10 percent off an Xbox One.

To celebrate, the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was held in the streets of Manhattan, and somewhere between the giant inflatable product placements and the weirdly obvious lip-synching, there was a brief performance by the cast of the Tony Award–winning musical Kinky Boots.

Of course, there was a moral outrage over it.

According to Oh No They Didn’t, overly outraged parents took to Twitter, posting comments such as “I guess the them for #Macys day #parade is “be gay or die.” Kinky boots is art? I’ll take the I <3 Lucy marathon. #tolerance“, or “Pretty sure I don’t need @MacysDayParade lecturing my family about diversity via “Kinky Boots”. Let kids be kids.

Well you know what? They’re right! Thanksgiving isn’t about appreciating what you have in life and celebrating family and friends! It’s about subjugating an entire race of people and taking their land for your own! Get it together, different people!
