Countdown to T14: Telluride Gay Ski Week

Telluride Gay Ski Week (TGSW) has announced its dates and theme for 2014.

Branded by organizers as “T14” and ranked the “top gay ski week in the USA” by gay.com, the 10-day event is scheduled for Friday, Feb 21 through Sunday, March 2, 2014.

T14 will take place at the Telluride Ski Resort in the towns of Mountain Village and Telluride, Colorado. The resort is nestled in a box canyon surrounded by the majestic 4,300-metre peaks of the San Juan Mountains.

“In the wake of this year’s historic Supreme Court ruling and the growing number of states approving same-sex marriage, T14’s theme for the week will be Equality with a number of special events and plans to be announced in the coming weeks as part of the celebration,” reads a press release from event producers.

TGSW has again partnered with the luxury property Hotel Madeline as the official host hotel. The AAA four-diamond hotel was recently added by Travel+Leisure to its list of the world’s best hotels.

As “party central” for T14, Hotel Madeline will be the home of most of the major events during week, including the renowned White Night Party. Daily après ski events are planned at the Smak Bar.

Hotel features include “ski-in/ski-out” access; a selection of 96 guest rooms, 11 suites and 17 condos; a state-of-the-art fitness centre; full spa; and — a new addition — its very own Starbucks, the only one in all of Telluride Mountain Village.

Limited-time “forestay” packages with early-bird rates are available now, starting as low as $215 per night, for reservations booked by Dec 1, 2013. Organizers are reminding people that Hotel Madeline sold out during the 2013 ski event; they expect another sell-out this year.

TGSW raises money for the Telluride AIDS Benefit.
