Thomas Smythe: My favourite gay travel destination

TV personality Thomas Smythe discovered his 'fantasy island'

Whether it’s the bustle of New York or the Mayan ruins of Tulum, often one vacation spot resonates with us and becomes a favourite travel memory.

We asked 20 gay celebrities, business people, and movers and shakers, “What is your favourite gay travel destination?”

“I have a very soft spot for Fire Island — and most of the island has seen my soft spots. Just kidding; sort of. For me, this historic summer enclave — especially The Pines and Cherry Grove — has everything I love in one stunningly beautiful seaside community. Based on my stories and descriptions around the office, one of my colleagues keeps asking me, ‘So when are you going back to Fantasy Island?’ I don’t need to correct her.” — Thomas Smythe, co-host, Sarah 101 for HGTV
